@SimonCalder Stansted airport reports its busiest July ever, while Ryanair has just had its busiest month ever – passengers boarding at an average rate of seven per second.

@WandrMe Alaska Airlines codeshares with many foreign airlines, each of which required approval from the US DOT. Now the carrier wants blanket approval to expand its codeshare destinations without individual approval from the Feds. #avgeek.

@WandrMe Bermudair has received tentative approval from the US DOT to begin operations between Bermuda and the USA.  The carrier intends to fly six days/week, 2x to HPN and 1x each to FLL/BOS as soon as 25 August.

@WandrMe .@IATA reports strong pax traffic  for June, now at 94.2% of 2019 levels. Domestic travel was up to 5.1% above 2019 levels, while int’l recovery hit 88.2%. Int’l loads for North American carriers topped 90%, highest in the world, domestic LFs dropped slightly YoY.

@WandrMe Moody’s is predicting aggregate operating profit for the global airline market to reach $29 billion in 2023, $40+ billion in 2024. That compares to 2019’s pre-pandemic operating profit of $30 billion.
