Discounted Entry to Shannon Aviation Museum

Flying In Ireland is delighted to have teamed up with the Shannon Aviation Museum to offer readers an exclusive discount on tickets to the museum. Founded in 2007 by Eddie Ryan and Jane Magill, Shannon Aviation Museum has grown wings and is now a fantastic aviation resource. The goal of the museum is to inspire and educate as many people as possible about the world of aviation as a whole, from flight simulation experiences to the history of flight, the development of aviation technology and everything in between. Located in the heart of Shannon, a visit to Shannon Aviation Museum is a must!

Tours are available running at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm subject to availability, or visitors can explore the museum at their own speed with the aid of an interactive audio tour. The Aviation Discovery Tour is also available which involves getting dressed up Top Gun style in your flight suit, and learning how wings produce lift and the fundamentals of flight! Your pilot instructor will then demonstrate the controls on your virtual aircraft, an aerobatic Extra 300. Challenge your family or friends to a race around New York! Take off from JFK and fly towards the Statue of Liberty, first to loop the course and land wins! Following your flight simulator experience, your tour guide will guide you through the museum, where you can sit into a real aircraft and take lots of great photos to share!

The museum also boasts a Boeing 737NG simulator constructed using a cockpit section of a real aircraft, C-GAPW which was in service for over 30 years! The flight deck features many original Boeing parts which add to the incredible realism of the experience. Primary School Tours and Scouting Ireland Air Badge are also available through the museum.
