Tweet Picks:

@ByERussell Norwegian Air, a direct competitor of Flyr, in a release Thursday its CEO Geir Karlsen cited “particularly high demand” for European destinations, and a full recovery in corporate demand.  A very different picture than the one painted by Flyr.

@ByERussell SAS has reached deals with 10 lessors covering 36 aircraft on cost savings. “The amended lease agreements allow us to reconfigure our fleet and improve our cost structure,” said CEO Anko Van der Werff.

@ByERussell Sri Lanka has a new LCC that will compete with its struggling state-owned airline: FitsAir.

@ByERussell Virgin Atlantic exits Hong Kong after 30 years. It’s the second major airline to pull out of the former Asian hub, joining American.

@LenoxConsulting The numbers speak for themselves… direct flights between @EWRairport  and #CorkAirport make sense. Multinationals on both sides will benefit, the tourism industry will flourish and our academic ties will be strengthened! Looking forward to helping make that case!  @ChooseNJ.
