Ryanair has just completed the busiest month in its history carrying 16.8 million passengers on 92,300 flights in July. The airline is now operating over 3,000 flights per day on most days of the week. The passenger numbers represent an 81% increase on the same period last year and a 16% increase in load factor to 96%. When compared to 2019, the last normal year for air transport, passenger numbers are up 12%.
The Ryanair Group have carried 98.7 million passengers so far in 2022 and 142 million in the rolling 12 months to the end of July. The Group are targeting 165 million passengers in this fiscal year but has cautioned that the industry is still fragile and continues to be at risk from events such as further Covid variants and political instability.
