Bristow Ireland Awarded ISO 14001 Certification

Bristow Group has outlined continued investment in its Irish operations as part of its 2025 Sustainability Report, marking the first full year of activity following the company’s entry into Ireland. The helicopter operator confirmed that its Irish operation achieved ISO 14001 environmental certification, aligning it with internationally recognised environmental management standards.

Several sustainability measures have already been implemented locally, including:

  • Electrification of 50% of the ground vehicle fleet
  • Installation of motion-sensor lighting across half of facilities
  • Completion of a noise mapping study, alongside the appointment of a dedicated Nuisance Management Officer

These initiatives are aimed at reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency and addressing community impact around the base. Bristow’s wider search and rescue (SAR) network, which carried out over 4,400 missions globally in 2025. The developments highlight the company’s focus on integrating environmental considerations into its expanding Irish operations as SAR and offshore aviation activity continues to evolve.

He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
