  • Dublin Airport Authority plc renamed daa plc

    Dublin Airport Authority plc has been renamed daa plc. The name change which was announced by the Government in July 2013 took effect on 4th November 2014. The Dublin Airport slot controller’s report for Winter 2014/15 shows considerable change over last year compared to the planned volumes at the same time last year. Passenger flights (scheduled plus cargo) for which slots have been approved for winter 2014 are up 6.94% on the approvals for winter 2013, freighter flights approved are down 1.79%. Actual passenger flights in winter 2013 were about 3% fewer than approved and freighter flights 11% fewer.

    The top passenger operators at Dublin in the coming winter in ATMs will be Aer Lingus (26,423 38%), Ryanair (24,146 35%), Flybe (3,868 5%), BA (3,182 5%), CityJet (1,820 3%) and Air France (1,575 2%). By seats, Ryanair will rank first (4.56 million 42%) followed by Aer Lingus (4.0 million 37%), BA (394,000 4%), Flybe (285,000 3%), Emirates (220,000 2%), Etihad (191,000, 2%), Lufthansa (175,000 2%), CityJet (173,000 1%), Air France (145,000, 1%).

    The busiest routes for flights will be Heathrow, London City, Gatwick, Paris CDG, Manchester and Birmingham and the busiest by seats Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, and Paris.  The busiest non-European route is New York JFK only marginally ahead of Dubai.
