Aircraft leasing giant Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has completed a new $1.48 billion unsecured term loan facility through its Irish financing subsidiary, underlining Ireland’s continued importance as a global hub for aircraft leasing and finance. The facility was signed by ACG Aircraft Financing Ireland DAC, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACG, with the borrowing guaranteed by the parent company. Syndicated across 33 lenders from multiple countries, the facility will mature in July 2031. Funds must be drawn by January 2027, although no amounts have yet been utilised.
According to ACG, the financing will support a range of corporate activities, including aircraft acquisitions and other capital expenditure, refinancing existing debt, working capital requirements and expenses related to the facility. The funding will be used by ACG Aircraft Financing Ireland DAC and, through on-lending arrangements, ACG Aircraft Leasing Ireland Limited, another wholly owned Irish subsidiary. The transaction was arranged by a group of leading Asian banks including DBS Bank Ltd., The Bank of East Asia, Cathay United Bank, China Construction Bank Corporation, CTBC Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation. DBS acted as Global Coordinator, while Wilmington Trust (London) Limited was appointed as agent for the lending syndicate.
Commenting on the deal, Eric Blau, Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Head of Capital Markets at ACG, said: “We are thrilled to announce the closing of our second transaction for ACG Ireland. The success of this transaction is a testament to the incredible support ACG and its subsidiaries receive from our global lender base and is a clear demonstration of the depth and sophistication of the APAC lending market in our sector.”
Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Aviation Capital Group is one of the world’s largest aircraft asset managers. As of March 2026, the company managed, owned or had commitments for approximately 500 aircraft, leased to around 90 airlines in 50 countries. Founded in 1989, ACG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation and remains a significant participant in the global commercial aircraft leasing sector. The latest financing transaction further highlights the strategic role of Ireland in international aviation finance, with many of the world’s leading aircraft leasing companies continuing to operate key financing and leasing activities through Irish-based entities.
