Aergo Capital Appoints Paul Sheridan as Chief Executive Officer

Dublin‑based aircraft lessor and servicer Aergo Capital has appointed Paul Sheridan as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition as the company positions itself for its next phase of growth. Sheridan will formally assume the role on 2nd June 2026 and will be based at Aergo’s global headquarters in Dublin. He succeeds Eugene O’Reilly, who has led the company in an acting capacity since January.

The appointment brings to Aergo an executive with more than 25 years of experience across aviation, finance and advisory, spanning aircraft leasing, asset management, banking and airline operations. Sheridan’s career has taken him across Dublin, London and Hong Kong, providing him with a broad international perspective aligned with Aergo’s global platform.

Most recently, Sheridan led PwC Ireland’s aviation finance advisory practice, where he advised lessors, investors, airlines and financial institutions on transactions, strategy and restructuring across market cycles. Prior to PwC, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of AMCK Aviation, gaining hands‑on leadership experience in aircraft leasing and asset management. Earlier roles included positions in structured finance, aircraft trading and debt syndication, following the start of his career at Aer Lingus.

Aergo’s ownership welcomed the appointment, noting the strategic fit between Sheridan’s background and the company’s ambitions. “Paul’s deep expertise in aviation finance and his proven leadership across multiple jurisdictions positions him exceptionally well to complement the existing leadership team in driving Aergo’s continued growth and success,” said Greg Belonogoff, Principal, Aviation Leasing at AB CarVal, which owns Aergo through funds under management.

Founded in 1999, Aergo Capital has built a reputation as a diversified aircraft lessor, servicer and asset manager, with more than $5 billion of aircraft owned and managed and operations spanning over 40 countries. The firm ranks among the top four global aircraft asset managers, supported by a senior management team with over 300 years of collective industry experience. Under Sheridan’s leadership, the company is expected to continue strengthening its position in mid‑life aircraft leasing, asset management and advisory services, while navigating evolving market dynamics including fleet transitions, airline balance sheet pressures and a more selective financing environment.

Commenting on his appointment, Sheridan said he was “honoured to lead Aergo Capital at such an exciting time for the business,” and highlighted the company’s long‑standing reputation and global reach. “The company has long been recognised as a premier global aviation leasing platform, and I look forward to working with the rest of the leadership team to continue creating lasting value for our customers and investors” he said.

Aergo is backed by AB CarVal, the global alternative investment manager within AllianceBernstein’s Private Alternatives business, which manages approximately $21 billion in assets and has invested through multiple credit cycles since 1987.
