At the Irish Business & General Aviation Association (IBGAA) Business Aviation Conference held at The K Club in County Kildare, Alliance Aviation unveiled a defining development for Ireland’s business aviation sector, the formal handover of the newly developed General Aviation Terminal (GAT) at Dublin Airport, scheduled for transfer to daa in early 2026.
This announcement marks a significant leap forward for Ireland’s business aviation infrastructure, demonstrating what can be achieved through collaboration between private innovation and public expertise. The new GAT, designed and developed by Alliance Aviation to meet the highest international standards, will deliver a seamless, world-class experience for private operators, aircraft owners, and passengers, reinforcing Ireland’s growing reputation as a hub for premium aviation services.
Until now, general aviation passengers at Dublin Airport faced logistical challenges, including lengthy transfers between screening facilities on the east of the airfield to aircraft stands on the West Apron. Alliance Aviation’s purpose-built terminal addresses these issues by providing direct access to aircraft, advanced security screening, and bespoke customs clearance, all within minutes. According to Alliance, clients have already been using the facility since mid-2025, enjoying car-to-aircraft times of under five minutes.
Under the agreement announced at IBGAA, daa will assume operational control of the terminal in early 2026, adding new lounge and reception facilities under its Platinum VIP brand. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to elevating Ireland’s position on the global business aviation stage.
The announcement was attended by Brendan McQuaid, Alliance Aviation co-founder and Managing Director, and Roy O’Driscoll, daa Deputy Managing Director & Head of Commercial Business Development at Cork Airport. Both highlighted the collaborative effort required to secure regulatory approvals and integrate services such as customs and immigration.
