WestJet has commenced a new non-stop service between Dublin Airport and St. John’s for Summer 2025, re-establishing a direct connection between Newfoundland and Ireland. This long-anticipated route offers travellers a seamless gateway from Ireland to Newfoundland, Labrador, and Canada’s east coast. The flight between Dublin Airport and St. John’s International Airport takes around four-and-a-half hours.
The flight has a 12.30am departure from St. John’s International Airport, arriving in Dublin at 08.35 the following morning. The return flight departs Dublin at 10.00am with an 11.40 am local time arrival in St. John’s. The airline uses the Boeing 737-8MAX aircraft on the route which operates on Tuesday and Thursday’s throughout the summer.

Also commenting at the launch of the new flight was the VP of Aviation Business Development, Dublin Airport, Eoin McGloughlin who said, “We are delighted to see WestJet launch a new direct route from Dublin Airport to St. John’s, Newfoundland. This route re-establishes a vital transatlantic link that celebrates the strong historical and cultural ties between Ireland and Newfoundland. WestJet now offers direct services to 4 Canadian cities, and we are also pleased to see that WestJet is expanding its flights to Toronto, providing even more options for travellers between Ireland and Canada. WestJet will offer more than 20 departures per week from Dublin in Summer 2025 and will have more than 200,000 seats on sale, reflecting the growing demand between Ireland and Canada.
