Jason Phelan, of Patrick St, Mullingar, launched The Adventures of Capt Paddy & Lucky in December 2022 with the aim of raising awareness and funds for two prominent Irish charities: Lauralynn Children’s Hospice and Dog’s Trust Ireland. What began as a modest fundraiser within Ireland quickly gained international attention.
This week marks a significant milestone in their journey as they have successfully raised over €10,000, with €6,000 for Lauralynn and €4,000 for Dogs Trust Ireland. These adventurous teddy bears have embarked on a global journey, visiting five continents, 27 countries, and flying on 65 different types of aircraft, achieving altitudes and speeds unmatched by any other teddy bear in Ireland.

On November 7th, they participated in the inaugural AvCon event aimed at inspiring Transition Year students to consider careers in aviation. The event drew over 6,000 students, and Capt Paddy & Lucky shared the spotlight with renowned personalities Ally Garvey and Karl Bowe.
