The Atlantic Aviation Group have announced their Aircraft Maintenance Licence CAT A Training Programme in partnership with the Limerick and Clare Education Training Board. The Aircraft Maintenance Traineeship has been developed to satisfy the skill and knowledge requirements for an EASA Part 66 Cat A Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence and to furnish the trainee with the essential disciplines to work competently and safely within the Aircraft Maintenance Environment.
An Aircraft Maintenance Technician (CAT A Mechanic) typically performs minor maintenance tasks and part replacements that may be required and subsequently certify these tasks. Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (CAT A mechanics) are permitted to perform various maintenance tasks during heavy and line maintenance on aircraft systems and components.
The course includes Theory, Workshop Practical Training, Aircraft Practical Training and On the Job Experience, with On the Job Experience taking place in Atlantic Aviation Group’s Shannon facility. At the end of the Training Programme, successful trainees will be able to apply to the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) for their EASA Cat A Aircraft Maintenance License.
This training programme is for learners interested in developing a career in aircraft maintenance. The programme is designed to fulfil the basic theoretical training, workshop training and practical experience requirements to apply for an EASA Part 66 Category A – Aircraft Maintenance Licence. Throughout the traineeship, learners will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the rules, regulations and legislation surrounding aircraft maintenance.
