A new Lufthansa service has taken off from George Best Belfast City Airport to Frankfurt on Sunday. The service will operate four times per week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The flights to Frankfurt will be the first direct service between Northern Ireland and Germany and the route will be operated by an Embraer E-190 aircraft offering both Economy and Business class services. This summer, the Lufthansa service will connect to its network of over 200 destinations from its Frankfurt hub.

Commenting on the new service, the Commercial Director at Belfast City Airport, Katy Best said, “The commencement of Lufthansa’s service to Frankfurt represents a significant milestone for Belfast City Airport, providing Northern Ireland with essential connectivity to Europe and further afield. This exciting new partnership opens up opportunities for business and leisure travellers alike and there is no doubt that it will be an extremely popular route for many.
