Waterford Aero Club is hosting two instructor training events in October, providing opportunities for flight instructors to maintain and extend their instructional qualifications.
A Flight Instructor Seminar will take place on 16th and 17th of October, aimed at instructors completing the requirements for the revalidation or renewal of their Flight Instructor (FI) Certificate. The seminar will be available via Zoom, making it accessible to instructors regardless of location.
As per the regulation, you may complete the refresher seminar at any stage in the 3-year validity of your FI Certificate. Even if you just revalidated recently, you can use the seminar to revalidate again if you do not need to complete an Assessment of competence (which must be completed at each alternate revalidation). This is also a requirement for the renewal of an FI Certificate. The cost for is €350.
On 14th October, the Club will also host a Technical Training Day for candidates seeking to add Instrument Instruction privileges to their FI Certificate, or those working towards an Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) Certificate. This will be an in-person event, with the venue to be confirmed.
Both events are intended to support instructors in maintaining their qualifications and developing additional instructional privileges within the EASA framework.
