AirNav Ireland recently celebrated the graduation of 32 students across its Air Navigation and Engineering Services, marking an important milestone in the organisation’s continued investment in aviation safety, people, and technical excellence. The graduating cohort includes 14 Air Traffic Control Officers, 15 Air Traffic Safety Electronics Engineers and three Aviation Radio Officers, all of whom have completed internationally recognised training programmes. They now join AirNav Ireland’s highly skilled workforce, responsible for the safe and efficient management of Irish airspace.
AirNav Ireland provides air traffic management services across almost 500,000 square kilometres of Irish-controlled airspace and manages the safety of all flights arriving at and departing from Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports, as well as aircraft traversing the busy North Atlantic airspace.
Speaking at the graduation, Chief Executive of AirNav Ireland, Gerard Caffrey, said, “Today’s graduates represent a significant investment in the future of Irish aviation. Their achievement reflects the professionalism of our instructors, the commitment of our trainees, and our continued focus on developing world-class aviation professionals to support the safe and efficient management of Irish airspace.”
Air Traffic Controllers are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within Irish airspace. Aviation Radio Officers maintain vital communications with aircraft crossing the Atlantic, while Air Traffic Safety Electronics Engineers design, implement and maintain the advanced technical systems that underpin air traffic control operations. Together, these graduates will play a vital role in supporting the safe, reliable and sustainable growth of aviation in Ireland.
