The Shannon Airport Group has welcomed Aer Lingus’ announcement of an additional weekly service to Paris Charles de Gaulle, further expanding the airline’s European schedule from the Mid‑West. The extra rotation, operating on Tuesdays, will begin on 5th May 2026 and run through to 20th October 2026.
The new Tuesday flight will depart Shannon at 07:10, complementing the existing Aer Lingus services to Paris on Thursdays and Sundays. The enhanced frequency will offer greater flexibility for passengers travelling to the French capital, whether for business, leisure, or onward connections via one of Europe’s busiest international hubs.
The move marks another significant investment by Aer Lingus in its Shannon operation. It follows last year’s major capacity boost on the Shannon–Boston route, which is set to increase from three to ten flights per week at the height of the 2026 summer season.
Ray O’Driscoll, Interim CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, said the announcement reflects strong demand for the Paris service since its launch in 2023: “We are delighted with Aer Lingus’ decision to increase frequency on the Shannon to Paris route. This enhancement is a significant boost for the region, strengthening our international connectivity and supporting the growing demand we have seen since the service launched,” he said.
“The additional weekly flight will not only offer greater choice for business and leisure passengers travelling to the French capital but will also open up more opportunities for visitors from France to experience the Wild Atlantic Way and all that our region has to offer.”
O’Driscoll added that Aer Lingus plays a vital role in linking the Mid‑West to key international destinations through its Shannon services to New York, Boston, London Heathrow, and an expanding European network.
Aer Lingus first launched the Shannon–Paris route in September 2023, with timings structured to also support transatlantic connections through Aer Lingus services to New York JFK and Boston. From May to October, flight EI908 will depart Shannon at 07:10 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with the return service touching down shortly after midday.
