Avolon Q2 2025 Business Update

Dublin based Avolon, and fourth largest aircraft leasing company in the world, has released its Q2 Fleet and Financing Highlights. During the quarter, the company acquired 15 aircraft, sold 20 aircraft and ended the quarter with 54 aircraft agreed for sale. It placed 26 aircraft from their orderbook, ending the quarter with 98% of their orderbook placed for the next 24 months

Avolon ended the quarter with an owned, managed and committed fleet of 1,076 aircraft, including orders and commitments for 442 fuel-efficient, new technology aircraft. They raised US$2.2 billion in new unsecured bank facilities during the quarter and completed a tender offer for US$1.2 billion of senior unsecured notes due in 2026. The company also received ratings upgrades by Moody’s and Fitch to Baa2 and BBB, respectively and was placed on positive outlook by S&P (BBB-).

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
