On 26th March, Ryanair carried its 200 millionth passenger – the first time a European airline has carried 200 million passengers in one year. The lucky passenger was 84-year-old Maria Cornelia Vos, who flew from Fuerteventura to Madrid on 26th March. Marking the occasion, Ryanair Group CEO Michael O’Leary said: “We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Maria Cornelia Vos as our 200 millionth passenger this year. Ryanair is proud to have carried 200M passengers in 2024/2025 and we are pleased that these 200M passengers have saved on average € 5 billion, compared to the average air fares of our competitor airlines.”
On a rolling 12 month basis to the end of March, passenger numbers were up 9% from 183.7m to 200.2m. Load factor remained the same at 94%. 15 million passengers were carried across the Ryanair Group of airlines in March with a load factor of 93%, this was up 10% from 13.6 million passengers in March 2024. 84,000 flights were operated throughout the month.
Meanwhile, the summer schedule for the airline has started ramping up including the launch of the new Dublin – Rabat route. Ryanair will operate 2 flights per week on this new route as part of Ryanair’s Summer 2025 schedule, 1 of 122 routes that Ryanair is operating to/from Dublin Airport this summer.
Ryanair’s Comms Director, Jade Kirwan, said: “Ryanair is pleased to see the first flight of our new Summer 2025 route from Dublin to Rabat take-off today (Mon, 31 Mar), carrying lots of happy holidaymakers and marking the beginning of the Summer 2025 season. This exciting new Summer 2025 route will operate 2 times per week, offering our Irish customers even more choice at the lowest fares when booking their summer getaways.
