Cork Airport, Ireland’s fastest growing airport, is set to welcome 62,500 passengers this May Bank Holiday weekend. As the first month of the summer season, passenger traffic this May Bank Holiday is up 20% compared with the same weekend last year. The busiest day of the weekend will be Sunday, May 4. With another busy bank holiday weekend in store, passengers travelling this weekend are strongly recommended to pre-book their car parking in advance to secure a space and to avail of the best rates.
May will usher in a host of additional summer services, all recommencing over the coming weeks. Aer Lingus will resume its twice-weekly service to Dubrovnik; Ryanair will resume its twice-weekly service to Alghero (Sardinia) and TUI will restart its weekly services to Reus, Lanzarote and Palma de Mallorca. Three new summer routes will also start in May, with TUI’s new service to Corfu starting on May 9; Aer Lingus’ new service to Bordeaux starting on the 15th of May and the SunExpress new service to Izmir commencing on the 31st of May.
