The Ryanair Engineering Training Academy has said that this week it has welcomed its 1,000th trainee to the training academy. As the Ryanair fleet grows to 800 aircraft over the next few years, Ryanair needs to start apprentice training now so they are qualified as new aircraft are delivered. Continuing the Ryanair tradition of growing their own talent, this year the airline launched the Ryanair Engineering Training Academy with the goal of supporting both line and base maintenance across the network.
The academy can offer four qualifications, Aircraft Mechanic, Licensed Mechanic (CAT A), B1 Licensed Engineer and B2 Licensed Engineer. Three training routes are offered to these qualifications, the Trainee Mechanic Programme, Junior Aircraft Engineer Programme and the Engineering Apprenticeship. Training is conducted at Prestwick & Stansted (in conjunction with Ayrshire College and Skill Development Scotland) and Dublin & Shannon (in conjunction with SOLAS and TUD).
