Shannon Airport Welcomes Ryanair’s Winter Schedule

The Shannon Airport Group has welcomed the launch by Ryanair of their Winter 2024 schedule for Shannon Airport. The schedule features 17 routes, offering passengers exciting city break destinations such as Budapest, Edinburgh, Krakow, Liverpool, London, and Manchester, as well as popular winter sun hotspots including Alicante, Lanzarote, Malaga, and Tenerife. Ryanair has increased flight frequencies on five popular routes for Winter ’24 — Tenerife, Kaunas, Krakow, London, and Manchester—providing travellers with even more convenient options for their winter travel plans. These expanded services reflect a 5% increase over last winter’s schedule.

Ryanair has been a key partner at Shannon Airport for 37 years. The airline’s operations have carried over 20 million passengers to and from Shannon, a significant milestone that underscores Ryanair’s long-standing commitment to the region. This commitment includes a €10 million investment in a state-of-the-art 3-bay maintenance facility at Shannon, which has created 200 high-skill jobs locally.

Commenting at the launch, the CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, Mary Considine said, “We are excited to welcome Ryanair’s winter schedule, with 17 routes and increased frequency on five key Shannon Airport services to Tenerife, Kaunas, Krakow, London, and Manchester creating an additional seat capacity of almost 30,000, a 5% increase over last winter. In addition, we are delighted to celebrate a significant milestone as Ryanair has carried over 20 million passengers through Shannon Airport since they began their Shannon operation in 1987. To mark this occasion, this morning we were thrilled to present a lucky Ryanair passenger with a pair of tickets to a destination of their choice from Shannon with Ryanair. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Ryanair, whose investment supports over 1,000 jobs and underscores their vital economic contribution to enhancing connectivity for both business and leisure travel.”

Also commenting at the Shannon Airport launch, Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said, “As Ireland’s no.1 airline, Ryanair is pleased to announce our Winter 2024 schedule for Shannon, with 17 routes (including key business travel, city break and Winter sun destinations) and extra flights on 5 of those routes – Kaunas, Krakow, London, Manchester, and Tenerife – giving our mid-west customers even more choice and regular connections at the lowest fares in Europe. The announcement comes as Ryanair carries our 20 millionth passenger through Shannon Airport to date. A significant milestone and reflection of our 37+ years of operating to/from Shannon, during which time we have invested heavily in the region, including our 3 Shannon-based aircraft which represent a $300m investment and support over 1,000 local jobs, as well as our €10m state-of-the art maintenance facility – our first in Ireland – that created a further 200 high skill, high paid jobs in the region.”
