@jlo_said Exclusively to the UK, air passenger duty APD was introduced in the mid 90’s as a so called green tax. Now it is merely a tax on anyone flying out of the UK. It does not contributed to the SAF or green agenda but penalises air travellers. For an island nation its a mockery.

@LuxuryTravelled The APD system just doesn’t work, and as Julia says is a penalty for air travellers. It should be reformed, and come back as a penalty for airlines who continue to operate old, fuel guzzling aircraft – and act as an incentive to operate newer fuel efficient ones.

@LuxuryTravelled Interesting that Ryanair will also be flying from Salerno, but they won’t be doing so until the winter, and so far only domestics to Bergamo and Turin.

@simonasbartkus .@Ryanair will base 3rd Boeing 737 aircraft in Kaunas for the Summer of 2024, bringing the record schedule of 27 routes and up to 87 weekly departures. Kaunas Airport will be the largest Ryanair base in the Baltics with 3 based aircraft and 2nd largest in the Nordics.
