Adrian Dunne has recently been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Aer Lingus. Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President of Operations/Chief Operating Officer of Norwegian for two years from 2021-2023 and before that held a number of roles in Ryanair over 16 years including Deputy Director of Ground Operations and Director of Operations.
In his first month in the job, he has already clashed with pilots accusing them of unofficial industrial action by refusing to work on their off days. In a letter to Fórsa, he said that the alleged non-cooperation by pilots has resulted in 13 transatlantic flight cancellations since 8th September and significant European disruption and re-routings. The company has claimed that this has cost it over €2 million in additional costs including lease-ins, passenger accommodation and compensation. Fórsa has denied it sanctioned any action or that its members are engaged in any action.
