@SimonCalder When UK launches its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) in Nov, transit passengers at Heathrow will have to apply online, wait up to three days and pay £10 “Other European hub carriers will be laughing as they pick up this business” says  @HeadForPoints.

@simonasbartkus .@Ryanair  will suspend Kaunas to Copenhagen flights this autumn (unconfirmed)?. This was the 2nd busiest route from Kaunas last year (8x weekly flights). If the route will be cancelled, this will be a major blow for Kaunas.  117 054 passengers travelled on the route in 2022.

@winglets747 It’s worth reflecting on Finnair’s decision last decade to extend the leases of 4 A330s rather than return them to owners. Finnair now flying A330s to Doha for Qatar, soon Qantas. At time, it was low-risk. Is industry now more risk averse? Lower capacity, higher fares?.

@winglets747 In the depths of Covid, airlines offered bonus miles for flying. ANA for the rest of 2023 is offering double elite-qualifying points on all international flights. Outbound Japan recovery has been sluggish due to a weaker yen and lingering Covid concerns.

@winglets747 This will be the first time in over 20 years that United Airlines takes delivery of a new aircraft from Airbus.
