Last month the IAA published a general advisory memorandum (GAM 03) regarding the establishment of the Irish Aviation Stakeholder Forum. In 2022 the Air Navigation Transport Act amended The IAA Act 1993 to require that the IAA convene a forum, not less than twice per year, to be known as the Aviation Stakeholders Forum (ASF), to foster the maintenance and improvement of aviation safety and to support the development of a positive aviation safety culture within the aviation community.
Parties that have been invited to participate include a range of Irish aviation trade unions, representative bodies and stakeholder groups. Invites to join were issued in June and the first meeting will take place in September. The draft terms of reference for the Stakeholder Forum were subject to public consultation during the first quarter of 2023 and were then amended following consideration of comments received. They cover the background and purpose of the Forum as well as the number of members and the rules and procedures.
Organisations that were not invited but who consider themselves eligible and willing to participate in accordance with the provisions of the ANTA 2022 are welcome to contact the IAA to for an invitation.
