Tweet Picks:

@NewsroomGC .@Transport_gc : Minister of Transport announces study on airport capacity needs in Southern Ontario.

@WandrMe .@_austrian is finally getting new wide body planes from next year, though the first half of the order are not entirely new.  Of the 10 787-9s joining the fleet between 2024-2028 five will be the “Sprinter” frames taken by Lufthansa after Hainan bailed on them. #AvGeek #PaxEx.

@WandrMe Boeing will likely end up having to pay airlines for lost revenue because of the delays. And passengers will face higher fares because of reduced capacity in some markets.  Big question is how many will face a cxl on a flight already booked, with sky high rebooking costs.

@winglets747 Another Covid recovery indicator: ANA’s A380 has taken over the 4x weekly Tokyo-Honolulu NH183/4 flights that used to be operated by the 777. Other 3x were A380. This gives ANA a daily A380 flight for the first time in 3 years. From July 21, A380 flies 10x weekly NRT-HNL.

@winglets747 If I’ve got this right, when Austrian Airlines receives a 787 next year, it will be the first new widebody delivered to Austrian in 17 years, and 2nd in 24 years. Austrian took a new 777 in 2007 and an A330 in 2000. Other widebodies had previous operators or delivered to Lauda.
