Dublin Aerospace Appoints Jason Mahoney to Board of Directors

Dublin Aerospace Group, the aircraft maintenance (MRO) company based out of Dublin Airport and Exeter Airport has announced that Jason Mahoney will join its Board of Directors.

In a career spanning 36 years, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Dublin Aerospace Board and will play a key role in the development of the company. He started as an Apprentice Aircraft Engineer with British Airways and has held C-suite, Board and Director positions at British Airways and TUI Airlines.

As a Dublin Aerospace Director, Jason will assist the existing Board and the Dublin Aerospace leadership team in developing the overall business strategy, reviewing and agreeing on commercial targets and playing an active role in the areas of quality, safety and compliance.

Mahoney previously held the position of Chief Technical Officer at British Airways and was responsible for driving technical engineering and large-scale operational changes worldwide. He has held several leadership positions at British Airways, including COO for a number of years, and he has also been Director of Engineering and Maintenance at TUI. Jason has very recently been appointed as COO of SAS Scandinavian Airlines.

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
