@ByERussell .@PLAYairlines is dropping plans to serve Orlando following a decision to swap a leased A321LR for an A320neo for “an even lower cost base in the long term.”

@ByERussell Spanish discounter @volotea ‘s 2nd new base of the year will open in Lourdes, France, with 5 new routes on 1 July. The airline opened a new base in Lille in April.

@ByERussell U.S. airlines paid an average of $3.59 per gallon for fuel in April. That’s the highest-ever April amount since 2000, and only the second time fuel prices have risen above the $3.50 per gallon mark since 2008.

@1Hildegarde Pleased to receive confirmation from my colleague Minister @HHumphreysFG of the award of a new €4.9 million PSO contract for air services to the Aran Islands for the next 4 years including a new direct service from Aerfort Chonamara to Inis Meáin and Inis Oírr.  @aerarannislands.

@jonostrower The FAA has made its position clear: If the 737 Max 7 or 10 certifications slip into 2023, Boeing needs an act of Congress to avoid a major cockpit redesign that could threaten the existence of either aircraft.
