@ByERussell Alaska Airlines sees “sustained strong demand” and, as a result, now expects June quarter to be up 12-14% vs 2019 on 7-9% less capacity. $ALK.

@ByERussell Just today, Delta raised its fuel cost guidance for Q2 by at least $0.25 to an average of $3.60-3.70 per gallon. And Brent is back above $120 per barrel.

@ByERussell “It’s time to invest, it’s time to take some risk,” @Iberia_en CEO Javier Sánchez-Prieto told me after the airline’s delayed inaugural to @Dulles_Airport  this week. Iberia is leading IAG out of the crisis.

@ByERussell @SouthwestAir  is the latest to invest in a sustainable aviation fuel start-up. The carrier has taken an undisclosed stake in SAFFiRE Renewables, which plans to make SAF from corn stover (the leaves, stalks, and cobs left in the field after harvest).

@ByERussell U.S. airlines paid an average of $3.59 per gallon for jet fuel in April, new @TransportStats data show. That’s the highest April amount ever since data collection began in 2000.
