Ryanair Takes Off for Girona from Shannon
On Tuesday, the new Ryanair service from Shannon to Barcelona – Girona took off on the first of the twice-weekly summer service. The new route will operate every Tuesday and Saturday until the end of October.
The new service is operated by an aircraft based at Girona. The flight departs from Girona at 06.30 with an 08.00 arrival in Shannon. The return flight departs at 08.40 with a 12.10 arrival in Girona.
Girona is just a 38-minute train journey from Barcelona, served by regular rail services. A historical town, Girona dates back to the time of the Roman Empire, boasting fantastic views and a walk along its medieval walls to the east of the old town. The city is known for having one of the best-preserved Jewish neighbourhoods in Europe and was also one of the filming locations for Game of Thrones.
