Commenting on the new Belfast service was easyjet’s Ali Gayward who said, “We’re delighted to announce this new route from Belfast City Airport for the summer and to provide our customers with an even wider range of fantastic destinations to enjoy. We are proud to be the largest airline in Northern Ireland and remain dedicated to offering low fares and convenient connections and we can’t wait to welcome more customers back on board.”

Also commenting was Chief Executive at George Best Belfast City Airport, Matthew Hall who added, “We are delighted that following the success of its London Gatwick service, easyJet will expand its presence at Belfast City Airport this summer with the introduction of a Liverpool service, taking to the skies on Friday 1st July. Initially, a single daily service will be operated Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Flights on Wednesdays will commence in September. We are confident that this route will prove extremely popular with both inbound and outbound passengers who choose Belfast City Airport due to its close proximity to the city and ease at which passengers can travel through the airport, averaging just six minutes to glide through security. With the addition of Liverpool, passengers can now fly to 18 UK destinations from Belfast City Airport, including 12 daily flights to London. This is more domestic connectivity than any other airport in Northern Ireland.
