New British Airways Route to Dublin
British Airways is to operate a new route between Dublin and Southampton starting on the 15th of May and will continue until October. The route will be operated by British Airways franchise airline, CityFlyer Express using an Embraer EMB-190 aircraft. The once-weekly flight will depart from Dublin on a Saturday morning at 07.15 and arrive in Southampton at 08.35. The return flight operates on a Sunday, departing from Southampton at 10.40 with a 12.00 arrival in Dublin. The new route for British Airways will allow for connectivity for the cruise industry which has a lot of departures from Southampton during the summer season.
Commenting on the announcement of the new route, the Chief Commercial Officer AGS Airports Ltd., Matt Hazelwood which owns and operates Southampton Airport said, “Last year was fantastic when we welcomed not only a host of new routes but a new airline to Southampton Airport. We were thrilled to see BA CityFlyer’s routes take to the skies and with the addition of Dublin we are sure it will prove extremely popular this summer.”
