MAAS Aviation Announces New Role for Richard Marston

MAAS Aviation has announced changes to their senior management team as Richard Marston assumes the role of Chief Commercial Officer and Fran Carew retires after 35 years of service to the business. Richard joined MAAS Aviation in January 2020 as Director of Customer Service, Sales and Marketing EMEA, having previously held high-level positions with Herberts, DuPont and AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings. Transitioning to the global role of CCO, he will be responsible for strategic business growth and further increasing the Company’s global footprint.

Tim Macdougald, CEO of MAAS Aviation

Commenting on the senior personnel changes at MAAS, the CEO Tim Macdougald said, “Richard will be fundamental in delivering the next phase of MAAS’ development as we grow our global footprint far beyond our current operations. The last two years have been challenging for everyone, but despite the obvious difficulties, 2021 was an outstanding year for MAAS Aviation and this success can be firmly attributed to the continued commitment and drive of our global teams. As we say goodbye to Fran and his wealth of experience and knowledge, the business remains in excellent hands with Richard and his team taking over the reins. In his new position as Chief Commercial Officer, Richard will lead the way in establishing new strategic partnerships and initiatives, as well as further developing our existing business relationships. I would like to acknowledge Fran’s incredible contribution and service to MAAS over the last 35 years. He has been at the forefront of massive transformational change at the Company and has been a true inspiration to all who have worked with him. We wish Fran a long, happy and healthy retirement doing a different kind of painting – he is an avid watercolourist.”

And commenting on his upcoming retirement, Fran Carew finished off by saying, “Having worked with MAAS Aviation for over 30 years, it has been an absolute pleasure to have participated in its tremendous growth while maintaining the company’s core values of customer satisfaction and value for money. I would like to wish all MAAS employees and customers the very best for the future.”

MAAS Aviation head office is based in north Dublin but the company has eleven state of the art paint shops in the Netherlands, Germany, Lithuania and the USA with the capability to repaint nearly 500 narrowbody and regional aircraft per year.
