JSA Announces Sale and Leaseback Deal with Spirit
Jackson Square Aviation has announced the sale-leaseback financing of three new Airbus A320neo aircraft to the Florida-based Spirit Airlines. Jackson Square now has a total of 11 aircraft under an operating lease with the airline, representing a strong, growing relationship between the two companies.
The airline received three new Airbus A320neo aircraft during July including N943NK (c/n 10563) bringing their fleet to over 165 single-aisle Airbus family aircraft. The airline started operations in 1990 as Charter One before changing the name to Spirit in 1993 initially on routes in Florida. The airline operated a fleet of over 50 DC-9/MD-80 series aircraft until they started replacing them with Airbus A320s in 2010.
Commenting on the deal, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Jackson Square, Alfredo Sarria said, “We are delighted to continue to support Spirit Airlines as they further expand their young and fuel-efficient fleet, and we wish the airline every success with these aircraft. Spirit Airlines is well positioned to take advantage of its unique offering from its Florida base to destinations throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America, and we are delighted to play a part in supporting the airline’s growth expansion within these regions. We look forward to further building on our partnership with Spirit in the years ahead.”
