Vueling Start New Belfast City Service
Spanish low-cost carrier, Vueling has started its new service from Barcelona to Belfast City Airport. The route is being flown by an Airbus A320 with EC-LOB operating Friday’s flight which arrived 30 minutes early into Belfast on Friday lunchtime. The outbound departure left on schedule at 14.20 for the flight to Barcelona. The inaugural flight received a traditional water cannon salute upon arrival whilst flamenco dancers entertained outbound passengers as they boarded their flight. The new services strengthen the ties between Belfast City Airport and the IAG as they also have Aer Lingus and British Airways operating at the airport.
Commenting on the new service was the Commercial Director at Belfast City Airport, Katy Best who said, “The addition of Vueling Airlines to Belfast City Airport will provide passengers with more choice this summer, bringing the total number of UK and European destinations served from the airport to 26. Vueling offers convenient flight times with a twice-weekly service to the popular Spanish city, and we are sure that passengers will take advantage of its competitive prices and great customer service to enjoy a relaxing break.”
