Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships Cancelled
In a post on their Facebook page, it has been announced that this year’s Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships has been cancelled again due to the pandemic. They were due to take place in Birr, Co. Offaly next September. It was due to be the 50th year of the Championships but the organisers have promised to be back in 2022 to make the event even more special. The decision was taken due to the current nature of travel restrictions and the forward planning for the visiting participants from the UK, Europe and the United States.
The organisers would like to thank Birr Castle, Offaly Tourism, Grant Engineering and the County Arms Hotel – amongst others – and, of course, all of our balloonists, as always your continued support and understanding is much appreciated.
