New Vueling Service to Belfast City

Spanish airline, Vueling, has announced a new twice-weekly service to George Best Belfast City Airport from Barcelona. The new service will be operated by a 180 seat Airbus A320 and starts on 2nd July. The flight will depart from Barcelona El-Prat Airport at 12.55 and arrive in Belfast City at 14.45. Following a 40 minute turnaround, the return flight departs at 15.25 and arrives back in Barcelona at 19.00. The flight will operate on Monday and Friday.

Commenting on the new service Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport said, “Vueling’s plans to launch a direct route to Barcelona from Belfast City Airport will be welcome news for many, giving passengers more choice for the summer. The convenient flight times and twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays make it an ideal choice for a relaxing weekend break, sunshine getaway, or trip to the beach with the family. We are looking forward to seeing Vueling’s passengers and staff at the airport this summer.”

Vueling airlines were formed in 2004 as a Spanish low-cost carrier and are now a member of the IAG group of airlines. The airlines main base is Barcelona El-Prat airport, with other bases in Madrid, Seville, Rome-Fiumicino and Paris CDG. Prior to the pandemic, Vueling served over 100 destinations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The airline has a fleet of around 100 Airbus A320’s and a further 18 Airbus 321’s and six smaller Airbus A319’s.
