CDB Aviation Deliver Second Dreamliner to United

Dublin based CDB Aviation has delivered the second of two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner’s to United Airlines. These two aircraft are part of a twelve aircraft deal agreed between CDB Aviation and United Airlines last September for a sale and leaseback agreement. The aircraft involved is N29985 (c/n 66144) was delivered from the Boeing Dreamliner production line in Charleston, North Carolina to the United base in San Francisco on 27th March. The aircraft has yet to enter revenue service with the airline. The other aircraft involved in this deal are ten Boeing 737-8MAX aircraft to be delivered between 2020 when the aircraft returned to service and 2021.

Commenting on the delivery of the Dreamliner to United Airlines, CDB Aviation Chief Marketing Officer Peter Goodman said, “We are pleased to deliver this second Dreamliner as part of our strategic relationship aimed to support United’s efforts as they navigate through the ensuing air travel recovery and look toward sustained future growth.”

Patrick Hannigan, CDB Aviation Chief Executive Officer, also commented on the delivery by emphasising the lessor’s “continued focus on increasing our base of customers within the Americas, and beyond. Our commercial team is actively engaged in the marketplace, pursuing opportunities to deliver wide-ranging and innovative solutions to the world’s airlines as they strategize their pathways through the air travel sector’s nascent recovery and position their fleets for post-pandemic realities, with operating economics and sustainability in mind.”
