Swissport Name Warwick Brady as New CEO
Swissport, the multinational aviation cargo and ground handling firm have announced that Warwick Brady will join the company as the new President and CEO. He will replace Christoph Mueller, who assumed the CEO role on an interim basis in December of last year. Warwick Brady will also join the Board of Directors of the company.
Warwick Brady joins Swissport from Esken, formerly the Stobart Group where he has been CEO since June 2017. The Stobart Group has recently changed its name to Esken. The Stobart Group announced the sale of the Eddie Stobart and Stobart brand names to Eddie Stobart Logistics, requiring it to change its corporate name from this month.
Mr Brady is a trained commercial pilot but has many years of international management experience. He has held the roles of Chief Executive Officer at Mandala Airlines in Indonesia, Chief Operating Officer at Air Deccan/Kingfisher in India and Deputy Operations Director at Ryanair. He was also the Deputy CEO at Buzz airlines in the UK, prior to their takeover by Ryanair.
Speaking as the announcement was made, Warwick Brady said, “I am excited, and honoured to be asked to lead Swissport in such unprecedented times. There is some hard work ahead, but the potential of Swissport and the medium-term market outlook will certainly make this an exciting journey. We will leverage Swissport’s great legacy of providing airlines around the world with ground services and cargo handling that they can rely on with confidence. And we will speed up Swissport’s already ongoing transformation into a more agile, innovative and efficient organisation and business partner.”
