DAA International to Operate New Airport in Saudi Arabia

DAA International, a subsidiary of the DAA has been awarded a contract to manage the airport at the new Red Sea Airport Project in Saudi Arabia. The new airport is expected to be completed at the end of 2022. The new airport will be the gateway to a luxury resort that will contain 28,000 square kilometres on the west coast of Saudi Arabia.

John Pagano, chief executive of The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) said the company chose DAA International because “we are confident that they can deliver not only an airport experience worthy of our luxury destination, but for their commitment to ensuring our sustainability goals are met”. The daa International will provide airfield and terminal operations, aviation services, facilities management and will oversee commercial activities, as well as corporate and financial services for the new airport. The new airport is expected to have capacity for up to one million passengers per year by the time the project is fully completed in 2030.

DAA international currently manages Terminal 5 at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They have operations in 20 countries from Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, India, Asia and New Zealand. Over 83 million passengers used airports operated or part owned by the DAA.
