Easyjet to Resume Belfast Services
Easyjet has announced that it will resume flights on a limited basis from 15th June. They will initially offer only some domestic flights within the UK and France. Belfast International Airport will start off seeing its seven domestic routes restart that week with daily flights being offered to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and London Gatwick. Flights to Birmingham will be on a three per week basis, with Bristol and Newcastle starting back with a four times weekly schedule.
Easyjet plans to fly 50% of its 1022 routes across its European network in July and 75% in August, although with a lower frequency of flights equating to around 30% of normal July to September capacity. The airline has also announced a massive seat sale to encourage passengers to take to the skies again following the COVID-19 pandemic. When flights resume, all passengers and crew will be required to wear masks onboard at all times and there will be no inflight food service onboard. A range of additional measures have been implemented in consultation with aviation authorities ICAO and EASA to allow for the safety of passengers and crew in the post COVID-19 era.
