IASA Aviation Career Expo to take place in September

Ireland’s Largest Aviation Career Expo to attract leading global aviation companies

Over one thousand students expected from across Ireland

The Irish Aviation Students’ Association (IASA) is pleased to announce Ireland’s first Aviation Career Exhibition which is expected to attract over 50 companies from various sectors such as aerospace, air transport, aircraft leasing, manufacturing, MRO, professional services and aviation related technology startups.  The event, which is expected to attract over one thousand students will take place on September 19th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry.

Ireland is a leader in aviation across major sectors of the industry.  Peter Kearney, Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) Chief Executive Designate added; “Aviation continues to open Ireland up to the world. Our great strength is the excellent people who contribute 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Due to Ireland’s strategic location between east and west and its competitive tax regime, 15 out of the top 15 global aircraft leasing companies are now based in Ireland. With two international flagship carriers and 14 other registered airlines, aviation is the core of Ireland’s economy contributing over €4 billion in GDP and generating over 40,000 jobs across the country (source IAA: 2017). Due to its reputation and diversity within the industry Ireland is also a leader in developing a highly educated workforce to meet the industry’s skills requirements.

Nurturing the right talent and enabling the next generation of aviation professionals for the continuous success of aviation in Ireland has become IASA’s mission since its early inception in 2015.

Bridget Corry, IASA’s Chairperson commented: “As we endeavour to develop IASA and build on our goals, this year we will host Ireland’s biggest Aviation Career Expo, offering students, organisations and Universities the opportunity to come together to discuss educational opportunities. Organisations are increasingly using IASA as a platform to create awareness about the opportunities that exist in the aviation industry.”

Since 2015, IASA’s mission is to bridge aviation – passionate students with the industry and to enable networking and collaborations that will shape the future of aviation within Ireland and beyond.
