@eurocontrolDG May’s @eurocontrol industry monitor shows some interesting stats – higher oil prices, strikes, more traffic (particularly for Greece & Turkey), more delays (notably en-route ATFM), lower ticket prices, better profitability but 2 bankruptcies.
@ghimlay .@VivaAerobus is beginning MEX-JFK on 18 October
. Airline had planned to launch service earlier, but faced A320neo delays and problems in getting JFK slot.
@juliejohnsson Looks like @FedEx is sopping up a lot of @Boeing’s near-term 767 capacity. As per an SEC filing, it’s taking 69 of the 767F from 2019-23, with options for another 50 aircraft . That doesn’t leave many close-in slots for other potential buyers like, say, Amazon… #avgeek.
@juliejohnsson The challenge for Rolls is immense as it redesigns compressor and turbine blades to address durability issues. After adding capacity and switching over its production system, there’s the complexity of retrofitting the Trent 1000 install base.
@LeehamNews The number of RR Trent-powered @Boeing 787s grounded now up to 43, reports @Bloomberg_Aero . Supply chain, MRO strains hurting ability to resolve problems on timely basis.
