@AirlineFlyer “An Italian carrier that is owned and operated by Italians with Qatar as a stakeholder.” “Qatar Airways is not forming Milan as a hub…this is an airline to serve the Italian market and the Italian people.” Al Baker making sure he makes it clear that @air_italy_ is independent.
@airwayslive IAG has high-quality airlines such as BA, Iberia and Aer Lingus. We are in the same business. Vueling is a low-cost carrier aimed at those who do not mind paying for the low quality. Our investments in IAG and others mean that we have airlines that provide all levels of service possible to fliers. We want to establish ourselves as a quality Italian carrier that can provide for all areas of customer-base.
@jonostrower Qatar (the country) agreed not to start any routes to the U.S. with Qatar (the airline) from anywhere other than Doha. These 6th freedom routes (from Emirates) drove the biggest U.S. airlines nuts. So Qatar took 49% of Meridiana and starts Milan to JFK and Miami in June.
@qatarairways The aircraft, the first of approximately 50 new aircraft to be added to the @Air_Italy_ fleet by 2022, is the first of 20 brand new @BoeingAirplanes 737-Max aircraft that will join the airline over the next 3 years. #737MAX.
@stevebiddle Air New Zealand are increasing all domestic fares by 5% from next Thursday.
