Weston Special Day of Flying 2016
The 3rd Weston Special Day of Flying was run on July 9th and was the most successful event to date with approx 135 special needs children being taken aloft by pilots who donated their time & skills, flying groups, clubs, schools & owners who donated their fixed wing & helicopters, with 15 aircraft in all & a whole bunch of volunteers & Weston Airport staff.
Follow Me-Aircraft Marshallers had 8 ground crew on the ramp for the day.
Special thanks to the new owner of the airport restaurant, Paddy Ryan who fed & watered the entire team! Official opening & renaming with a significant nod to Irish aviation history will be announce very soon.
‘Follow Me-Aircraft Marshallers’ will be in Brittas House next weekend for the Foynes Air show & back in Weston for 3 days following weekend for Bray Air Show. This is our busiest year yet! Birr Air show & CAF Wings Over Houston in November to round off the year.
